This 2nd. Virtual Yuma County Fair Housing Symposium groups together landlords, realtors, lenders, renters, homeowners, prospective homeowners, maintenance staff, case managers, property managers, housing counselors, and all community members to learn, discuss, and ask questions and get answers to the topic of housing discrimination in our community and how we can all talk about our shared role, rights, and responsibilities to provide everybody fair opportunities to decent, livable housing spaces.

This course is a refreshingly look at a subject that has been and remains at the top of the list for housing professionals and tenants. Disability violations is the most commonly misunderstood topic and high in housing violations.  This training will cover the New Guidance put out by HUD regarding Animals & Housing in Jan 2020.

This training is about HUDs Guidance on the Use of Criminal Records by Housing Providers.   This guidance discusses how a housing provider may violate the Fair Housing Act if the provider, unintentional or international discriminates when using criminal history information in evaluating applicants and tenants.  For returning citizens’ and advocates, there is discussion on ways to meet housing providers in the middle.   This training has something for Housing Providers, Social Service Advocates, and our returning citizen advocates.
